Happy Friday everyone!
So this was an exciting week for team YogiPlay, as we announced a new strategic partnership with the global eco-brand Jeff Corwin Connect.
For many of you with children under the age of 12, I’m guessing that at some point in time you’ve watched Jeff Corwin with your kids while he was hosting Animal Planet on Discovery or with his current show Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin.
For those of you who might not be familiar with Jeff, he’s a well-known Emmy Award-winning TV host and a regular science and environmental correspondent for MSNBC and NBC News. His wildlife and conservation work has also been featured on The Today Show, The Rachel Maddow Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and many others.
Jeff, along with his trusted business partner, cofounder and friend, Anurag Agarwal, started Jeff Corwin Connect with a mission to “go beyond geographical boundaries as the voice of conservation and connect the entire planet, its people, ecosystems and wildlife to one another.”
At YogiPlay, we wanted to support this mission of expanding eco-citizenship and elevating conversations around the importance of taking care of or environment by launching a wonderful “green” app for kids called AnimalBingo: Jeff Corwin Connect.
AnimalBingo is a fun matching card game that introduces little kids to authentic animal species pictures (crowd-sourced through the Jeff Corwin Connect community) plus real animal sounds.
Since many children have only seen or experienced wild animals via TV, DVD’s, movie theaters or the occasional school trip to the zoo, AnimalBingo provides a simple way to inform kids about different animal species that inhabit the Earth.
It is our hope that through this type of early exposure, children will take an interest in our environment only to grow up to become engaged eco-citizens as adults.
We applaud Jeff, Anurag and the rest of the Jeff Corwin Connect team for bringing their mission of eco-citizenship to the children’s learning app market. This is the kind of app that can turn a little animal matching card game into a life long pursuit, and we think that’s pretty cool.
